So where here are on the second day, firstly I have to say a big thank you for all the great responses yesterdays post. It’s been a long time since I have had the energy to post and everyone’s messages and engagement was seriously appreciated.
I did ‘slightly’ cave. In reality, I am possibly being far too hard on myself for something so little. But, Dan and I ended up heading out for food this evening.
So, not only did we have a little bit of a celebration between the past few days. As I got into work, I checked my diary to see I’d so far gymed every night this week, including Sunday! I was shattered and a break was well overdue.
Sidetracking slightly to this morning and what I got up to during the day, so since it’s Wednesday, I’m working. If you didn’t know already for my day job I work as a Social Media Executive, you could say I spend a lot of my life online. We were working slightly down south, which meant travelling was involved. Travelings something which has never particularly bothered me. A good thing which I try to get into the habit with, especially with work travelling is MEAL PREP. Otherwise, I get hangry and more tired than I was initially.
Sadly, that’s as interesting as my day to day got. Following a few client meetings, we hopped back up to Newcastle. Once out the car, I immediately ran Dan and suggested we should take a nice walk into Tynemouth for a few drink and food.
If you’re not familiar with the coastal areas of Newcastle, I couldn’t recommend Tynemouth more. It’s a very chilled out culture, lots of bars, restaurants and boutique shopping. If you have the chance to visit on the weekend, they also run a successful inside of the train station on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
We decided to go into the newly renovated Lola Jeans. I’ve been going here since I was a teenager, and wow! They have taken their old classic Spanish vibe and given the venue a very sleek update. Along with new cocktails and their classic famous burgers, which again if you are local you’ll know that they SWEEP the awards yearly ay Wylam – Battle of the Burger.
For my meal, I got the vegan platter board. o.m.g. I was so excited when I was reading it on the menu, but gosh it was really good. A lot of the elements on the plate were smoked. I got a vegan patty, broccoli, hummus, falafel, pitta and chips on this dish. For Dan’s main, he went for the Cluck Norris Chicken Burger and had a side of J.P Sullivan fries which are inspired by another burger on the menu. I’m gonna say he was content as he walked out of the place with the biggest smile on his face.
If you have never visited the Newcastle or Tynemouth locations for Lola Jeans, I would highly recommend heading along. I have left the link here, so you can check out their website.
Did I feel guilty for going out for food?
Slightly, but I feel like this is the very reason that I started this venture. I did my best to go for a healthy alternative, avoiding the as amazing as they are burgers. As well as switching my celebratory beverage to a vodka lime and soda. Since I think it’s really important that you reward yourself for the slightly bigger wins.
I’d like to prove to myself that if I stick with this new weight goal and mentality. That when it comes to days like these, I’m already at a place where I feel happy mentally and physically with my decisions.
- Coffee (Cappuccino)
- Sweet Potato with
- Courgettes cooked in paprika
- Snack-a-jacks Sweet Chilli
- Lola’s Vegan Platter
- 2 X Vodka Lime and Soda
Tomorrow, I’ll be back at the gym! Since I’ve planned to see friends Friday evening I’d prefer to get a good sweat out and make it my fourth night at the gym for this week.
