Right now nothings normal… or well at least not just yet. For about a month, I’ve been craving some sense of ‘normality’ even if it’s a new version of normal. Gosh, putting that down in writing does make me second guess myself. Anyways, I think one thing that would bring me a lot of comforts way back when I was shooting/creating blog content, what better way to celebrate that than to go back to where it all started with my homegirl Jess. Don’t worry; all her links are down at the bottom of this post, you’ll be wanting to check her work out for sure. Now, if you’re an OG, you’ll know that when this blog started six whole years ago (Be right back, need to be sick at the fact that’s how quickly time has passed), you’ll remember her quite well. Everything myself and Jess did was building portfolios, trying to make a name for ourselves, but mainly just having A LOT of fun especially when we managed to get ‘the shot’, something we experienced last week after messing around with my apartment lift for around twenty-five minutes. Big apologies to my neighbours. In the end, we were able to sit and work out a plan to styling this just phenomenal new lens that Jess has gotten. I believe from memory it’s a Canon 16-35mm, technical term aside, backgrounds are no longer what you can see with your eye’s with this puppy!
So, rather than babbling on, I should probably get to the pictures now shouldn’t I?
Styling this shoot the other day, with a dress I actually got well before the autumn season from ASOS. One of those almost forgotten about items that ended up at the bottom of the wardrobe situations. Probably from trying to hide all my online shopping habits from my boyfriend. Anyways, I styled this maxi dress up with my chunky Dr Martens. Personally, I like my classic eight eyelet leather boots. For the jacket, I chose an All Saints denim jacket I purchased a few years; it’s cut into the style of there classic leather jackets. Finally, since it was a special day, I brought the Gucci mini out for a bit of a styling session.
There we have it; I’ve almost been brought to tears of happiness writing this post. Something that’s been far too long, I’ve missed the writing for myself, the STYLING, but mainly being able to collaborate with my incredibly talented friends.
Fancy seeing more styling posts? Let me know in the comments below. As mentioned I’ve left all Jess socials below, show her some LOVE.
